um just realize that compared to both of you
i'm like the whitest of white shade i could
be it could just be the lighting too yeah
it could be the pound of snow in front of
me yeah literally looking at a window full
of snow
*intro music*
all right we'll get started hannah if you
want to start it oh yeah i forgot hello everybody
and welcome back to our podcast my name is
hannah and i'm rachel hannah oh and this is
our special guest paula oops i said your name
was i supposed to we're really good at having
guests so regardless this is the you talkin'
to me? podcast
all right so if anyone wants to know paula
is my mom we look exactly the same we both
have glasses no um so if you want to kind
of introduce yourself mom a little bit okay
um i'm paula cox and as rachel said i'm her
mother and um living in a space where we are
getting close to a blizzard at this moment
so that is kind of our first one uh so yeah
that's me yeah hannah and my mom are both
in north dakota experiencing the snow and
i'm over here crying because it's 70 degrees
today again so really annoyed about that but
uh today we are watching spookley and the
christmas kitten well we're reviewing it we're
not watching it we're reviewing spooky and
the christmas kitten and my mom actually wrote
up the recap for us so she will read that
for us today as our special guest i just want
to put that out there that right away this
review does contain spoilers so this story
is about a kitten who is green red and white
and is found hiding by santa claus santa brings
him home and says he will keep him until he
finds him a home santa names him mistletoe
and gives him a collar and snaps a photo to
capture the moment mistletoe finds himself
wrapped up in a snowball on a farm and he
has lost his memory spookley and the other
pumpkins try to find out who he is and where
his home is when an owl appears and steals
mistletoe's collar and flies off with it mistletoe
follows him and finds the caller minus the
star that should have showed him the way home
leon the raccoon comes upon mistletoe and
tells him he will give him what he wants if
he trades his color for what is in the bag
which he does only to find out that it contains
three kittens in the meantime spookley the
pumpkin sets off on his own because none of
the other pumpkins want to help him as they
are too busy auditioning for the extra fancy
ganzer and do not want to go out in the cold
spookley eventually finds mistletoe and sees
he has acquired three kittens named scat shoe
and scrim spookley convinces them all to head
to the farm where they will be warm and if
they just become friends and stick together
like glue they will make it they get back
to the farm and find that they need to get
in the house when mistletoe falls down and
passes off shu who has not spoken the whole
time finally speaks and tells mistletoe he
loves them and that they are home mistletoe
wakes up and they do get into the house when
mistletoe puts the kittens in the stockings
hung up and finds his box that was left under
the tree it is a picture that was taken by
santa and all of a sudden mistletoe gets his
memory back the children wake up and find
the kittens in mistletoe and they realize
they are home and there hung on the tree is
mistletoe's color when we see leon out by
the tree he turns into santa claus who then
turns into the elf and flies home the pumpkins
hold their extra fancy gander and all as well
so there that was really good great recap
except there's one thing we forgot to tell
you
we're pranking you mom we're not reviewing
that movie you're kidding where are you here
we're reviewing national lampoon's christmas
vacation oh my gosh you guys so i watched
that show for nothing
that was rachel's idea i'm just gonna put
that out there that's okay i'll see her soon
that sounds like a threat oh my gosh no i
saw someone on youtube review this movie last
year and i knew it was like the most ridiculous
thing and that it was only 45 minutes luckily
because i wasn't gonna make you watch like
an hour and a half two hour movie that was
just worthless and like the worst thing just
to prank you but i was like this is my chance
because i tried to get hannah to watch spookley
the square pumpkin for the halloween season
okay was absolutely shut down absolutely turned
down would rather be murdered and i was like
okay but i know someone who will watch a spookley
movie for me exactly oh my gosh that's too
funny but we picked a movie that you know
forward and backwards because we watch it
every year like a million times a year so
exactly in fact your dad asked me just yesterday
what's your favorite part of the show oh my
gosh well that was part of uh the secret prize
that was a setup too yeah yeah to get you
kind of in the vibe of thinking about it because
we haven't watched it for a year but with
all of our christmas decorations that we have
on the literal tree that are clark griswold
themed i mean how can i forget so there's
our little tree in my parents house and there
is clark hanging on two of the decorations
down below so that's amazing yeah there's
one of him plugging in there's one of him
with the turkey you know what the pledge of
allegiance right yeah there's one of the car
with the tree on top don't we have that somewhere
yeah i think yeah we've got um a couple of
new ones we've added this year is there's
a the christmas box with the cat inside so
when you push the button the box vibrates
and meows and then we got one that has the
ball of lights you know all strung together
and then um there's one with the chainsaw
and the guy the neighbor says hey neighbor
what are you gonna do with that tree he goes
bend over and i'll show you i just saw that
clip i rewatched it because i love the neighbors
so much but before we get into the movie too
much hannah has prepared the recap for this
film that we're actually reviewing today but
i'm really glad mom that you prepared like
the longest recap because we're not actually
watching it but the audience at home gets
to know just how ridiculous that movie was
it was based off of that you did a wonderful
job i'm obsessed with it thank you for playing
along in our game but don't worry we will
yes we will guide you through this okay sounds
good all right hannah hit up the three cap
the recap here comes national lampoon's christmas
vacation is a movie that follows clark griswold
on his quest for what he believes to be a
perfect traditional family christmas he also
is expecting a bonus from work so he can surprise
his family with a pool nothing goes to plan
and chaos ensues but does that mean christmas
has been ruined i first just want to say that
this is the best opening song to like any
movie ever and it's like one of my favorite
christmas songs and it never plays on the
radio or anything i'm sure it's copyrighted
up the wazoo but like come on people it's
so good and like the animated beginning like
that's all i gotta say from the beginning
say the intro song is the exact opposite of
the song that opens lady and the tramp that
rachel loves because that one i said if i
never had to hear it again it would still
be too soon but this song let's hear it all
day long on repeat i love it it's a real bop
mom what do you want to kind of like share
why maybe our family loves this movie so much
you know with maybe someone who's a little
too close to the real guy
yes so the reason that this became one of
our favorite movies is because my husband
rachel's dad jerry is clark griswold um he
would collect all of these christmas decorations
and every single year on veterans day we would
set them up in the front yard and most of
the time it would take a good part of the
day i believe at the highest point of our
uh having decorations in the yard i believe
emily counted them and we had 107 decorations
in our front yard and we don't have that big
of a front yard so we had santa families snowman
families lights around the house so jerry
is clark griswold we would have this situation
where you would plug it in and half the lights
might not work and or this section doesn't
work so then you'd have to unplug everything
and restart over and so i mean literally we
are that family yeah except we go harder he
does got string lights all over his house
lame they're not even twinkly colored lights
like they're twinkling a little i suppose
he does say he has 25 000 twinkling lights
but come on we do like the old like vintage
like plastic like full pieces that like line
our yard like mom said we had like sections
and we had to have them every year we had
like the one nativity scene that was like
small it was on the stairs and we had the
angels around them and we had the toy soldiers
guarding them and we had our very first decoration
though that we had was this like what you
know those like wire decorations that have
like they're not the plastic but they still
have like the full shape but they're made
out of like the wire and like that like weird
fiberglass it's not fiberglass but i don't
know what the word is for it but like netting
type of material we had this bear and we also
had like two other decorations but this bear
meant a lot to us because one year when we
had decorated our yard these hoes show up
and like destroy our christmas decorations
like and mr bear which is the spirit of christmas
now he like was dismembered and there was
like a hole in him and they cut his cord i
don't know why they were like this but we're
like we're not gonna let that discourage us
so we put him out every year and would like
put him up in the a nice spot so like he had
a view of the yard and everything he didn't
light up but we made sure there was like light
up guys next to him and stuff so we just went
bigger and better that is our family we literally
like my mom said live with clark griswold
and we have had many of the situations that
he's had in terms of the lighting with the
big balls that have to be untangled or i mean
we haven't had uh uh someone dump their sewage
into our sewer drain and then blow up and
have half of our decorations go into the sky
but i would say that that's probably next
we do have family members that i could see
pulling up in a camper like that with all
the love though like they have for eddie and
this family they're crazy that's right and
just uh a quick note um your father and i
have re-strung lights on the spirit of christmas
and he does light up now so he is back to
life
i just have to give some background to my
christmas experience with this movie because
i would say my father may not be as extreme
as rachel's father but he might be extreme
in a different way like i think clark sometimes
can be a little cheap which i would say my
father is as well and i have since i was the
age of i don't know four learned how to um
restring a bulb for or rewire a bulb to put
into a string of lights so we don't have to
buy a new string of lights okay so i know
how to rewire these things very well and oh
yeah absolutely this year we just did about
100 more we just you know rewire the little
bulbs take them apart rewire them we got it
we're good i mean better for the environment
but still funny yeah and a few years ago my
dad and i were our little frosty the snowman
burnt out so we were putting and rewiring
a new bulb into it and it exploded
i've never been more scared is you know glass
exploding in your face that's a fun time right
and then this year also we have switches that
hook up to our alexas she just heard me um
and we have 50 you heard that number five
zero 50 of them to hook up to all of our lights
and things so that they can all be controlled
from my dad's phone so it's like the 2021
version of clark griswald i guess the different
time so oh my god my dad's extra in that way
i'm glad that we've got extra families though
because i mean life would be so boring without
that right like if if you didn't have that
skill you know what's gonna you know what
you just set up the perfect adventure story
hannah you knowing how to do that since you're
four years old there's going to be a pivotal
moment in your life that is going to save
your life knowing how to do that it's going
to be the climax of your film of your life
and you are going to need to rewire a bulb
in a certain amount of time and you're going
to you're going to save christmas or something
i don't know what it's going to be but you
just wait for that moment you call me when
it happens i will kind of be hannah's macgyver
moment right exactly no and we've had not
macgyver moments but through how many rolls
of duct tape how many bags of sand how many
rocks from our yard that we had to dig up
because you know we do this on veterans day
specifically for two reasons one emily and
i always had the day off of school and dad
would take it off of work and or also for
more important reasons we live in north dakota
people remember that the place where it does
snow in october okay like that is not unlikely
and so there are some things that we have
to hammer into the ground or you know we would
like mostly flat ground to put up our christmas
decorations and so the snow sometimes it's
helpful but in other times it's just a pain
to have to put up decorations when it's snowy
and no we do not light them up on veterans
day we're not that crazy but i do have very
specific memories on either the night of thanksgiving
if we couldn't wait long enough or the night
after thanksgiving us pulling up our lawn
chairs bundled to the nines and sitting on
the end of the driveway and plug it in just
for like three of the decorations to only
work and none of the rest having to come back
out and check it out and we're like no it's
not on and then having to go back and figure
out what because there's a picture somewhere
we made a video one year to send to my dad's
brother which is my uncle obviously and all
right and there was one picture of like one
block of things that were plugged in and it
was like one of those things that has three
that you can plug in but we put another thing
that you can fit more onto and some of those
plugs had another thing you could plug it
into so there's probably like 12 or more things
plugged into one small section of an outlet
and i can't imagine so not a fire hazard absolutely
not can't imagine that's why sometimes we
blow a fuse though it must be a different
reason i think it was just a faulty house
you know like it's the house's fault not ours
not us overbearing one plug-in now like watching
griswold i'm like it seems like it's gonna
be like he's going to be really extra and
he acts like it is and then you see it's almost
underwhelming coming from my house like just
the lights on the roof like we don't go on
the roof and staple anything there or put
it all over the um house but
the shingles yeah the siding so we we don't
do that all mostly because we wouldn't be
able to get it off and dad would hurt himself
but i love this movie for the small things
i would say it has a bunch of big moments
you know obviously going to get the tree or
you know eddie bringing back the the boss
in a bow and the swat team shows up the big
moments are there they hit it but it's like
the small moments that make me laugh the hardest
going directly off of the christmas light
thing when clark's upstairs in the attic and
he gets like shut up there and everyone is
leaving and he like sticks his head out the
window and you just see all of the lights
like around him they're not on but all the
wires and stuff you just know that is one
of the funniest like just visual moments i
think and i don't know are there like small
moments like that that you people remember
that just get you laughing well i think for
me um some of the funniest parts are like
when he's looking out the window imagining
the pool that's gonna be outside and he imagines
that wasn't it the sales clerk from the uh
deal is out there and she's taking off her
bathing suit and throwing it at the window
and then the little girl comes and says you
know uncle clark you know and is asking him
questions and then he's kind of surprised
you know uh but one of my favorite um parts
is the sales girl at the counter and he's
trying to buy something for his wife either
or so he says and she's like lifting up this
side showing him how it doesn't help show
anything and all of a sudden the son walks
somebody goes hey dad he's like
yeah don't you think mom would like that well
she's like you can't even see the line and
he's like yeah rusty you can't even see the
line can't rusty like it's still my favorite
thing oh my gosh i have a few favorite parts
one is um obviously the cat the cat getting
torched under the tree under the chair this
cat just gets like torched basically but that's
what happens and it's funny i think the grandpa's
toupee is funny that is a classic i think
that all the two things though that are funny
but probably aren't supposed to be like the
funniest moments to me are after they're going
to get the christmas tree or maybe it's on
the way to get the christmas tree they like
hit a snow bank because they've just been
like trapped under a semi and whatever and
just the way they land in the car like they've
stopped and
it's the daughter the way she is like i don't
know there's something with her face that
every time i just die and then when they're
eating the turkey the way clark is chewing
like and like everyone's trying to chew and
he has to like gargle water to even get it
down yeah oh my gosh with the daughter thing
that you were talking about when it's like
the kids are in the front seat because like
who cares about child safety don't buckle
up in the back you're fine but they're like
both in the front seat their legs are all
up and the daughter literally is just like
like there's no idea where she's at and it's
just it is great um i love after they get
the tree after they get it up and stuff and
they're all sappy and they're like reading
the magazine in bed and it's like sticking
to him and it's just like he rips it out and
then he goes to turn off the light and the
lamp comes with them it's so good and it's
so dumb because it's so small like the physical
comedy in it they hit it you know like this
is one of the few snl movies that works in
my opinion i know a lot of the time the snl
movies are like too much like sexual humor
and stuff like that that's not my vibe you
know what i mean but this one like works so
well and it's honestly like the best out of
the other national lampoon movies as well
like it just i don't know if it's the nostalgia
i don't know if it's because i'm literally
watching my dad on screen i don't know what
it is but i love this one so much and it's
like the perfect comedy christmas movie in
my opinion so this movie has a lot of classic
moments what would so i know you guys said
you like the the the pool scene or like the
shopping scene but like what about some of
these other big moments that come to mind
when you think of this movie for me i think
one of my favorite parts is is when something
happens and it shoots that icing oh when clark
is hanging from the gutter and as it's coming
down this huge icicle shoots through the neighbor's
window and hits like their piano busts through
the window hits the piano there's water everywhere
and it's just crazy and they come home and
you know i just loved how snooty and what
what happened todd i don't know margo you
know what i mean they're just so dramatic
and i just love the neighbors part and then
she's had enough with the neighbors and she
goes over there to knock on the door and really
let him have it and just as they open the
door to let the squirrel run out and the dog
run out she gets attacked and she comes back
to the apartment and he's like what happened
and she punches him in the face you know she's
just had enough and so though that was one
of my favorite parts too of the movie i guess
you know i guess if i had to say the whole
movie is our favorite part just because we
watch it every year but there are some really
funny ones the neighbors are like iconic in
so many ways i love that i don't know margo
like because they show up and they don't know
that an icicle like the huge ice chunk flew
through their window they have no idea what
happened all they know is just everything
is soaking wet and broken and so that's so
funny and they're like blaming each other
even though they should very well know it's
next door who has done this to them but um
i just came back from running in like these
aluminum foil outfits they are like so yuppy
they're they like do not belong in the suburbs
i don't know why they thought that buying
a house in the suburbs where kids will be
living was like any inkling of a good idea
like go live in the city where you belong
uh why are you here like it's so they're so
different from the griswolds too but i love
the griswold family because while clark is
like so obnoxious and crazy like his family
while they like find him at times like weird
and annoying like they are so supportive like
the the son rusty is always like i'm here
for you dad like i'll do anything you do and
like the daughter gives them like a hard time
but like when everyone like when it doesn't
work at the end she's like it's okay dad i
know you put in like a lot of work like she
loves him and it's so sweet and the mom also
is just in love with her husband even though
he's a whack-a-doodle-dandy you know what
i mean like they're so it's a sweet family
so i do like that dynamic it isn't just he's
goofy you know that's if that was the whole
movie i don't think it'd be that successful
because you need the feelings behind it you
know you need the reality behind it well i
can definitely relate with her on that movie
you know being in love with him even though
he's nuts i live with that situation every
day and he's sitting here looking at me right
now as i say this what about when um the swat
team's coming in to come find the boss and
they're all frozen and the mom's hand is on
his crotch and then she like says like oh
she's gonna like shake the cop's hand and
then she puts it right back to his crotch
oh that part funny why does this movie exist
like the fact that it had to have been written
and i know they probably played up some of
the stuff or could like edit you know like
some little changes while they're shooting
it and the physical comedy and stuff i mean
it wouldn't work with anybody else like the
right writer with the right person just it
came to be into fruition at the right time
in everyone's life you know what i mean and
i we need to talk about this this other family
though the eddie's family because they are
we'll talk about the other family members
there's a lot of them in this that are just
kooky and i love them but eddie's family is
just when they roll up in their rv with that
dog and their kids like they all just play
it so perfectly like what what do you guys
have to say what what do you have to say about
these people well i love the way that they're
out there and clark is all excited because
now the lights they figure out what happened
with the lights and he's going down the line
hugging everybody and you know kissing everybody
and and all of a sudden he's like you know
and eddie eddie i love the shocked expression
like all of a sudden here they are and you
know the poor wife you know i mean eddie's
just totally nuts he's jobless you know he
hasn't worked in years and trades the rv for
the house or whatever that they had and uh
puts this whole family and he's like you know
you gotta check it out oh yeah i bet it looks
great you know and stuff so uh but the family
is a little odd you know the son is you know
just a strange looking kid and the dog you
know is under the table he's just hocking
up a bone you know stuff and it just it's
disgusting under the kitchen table you know
so or the dining table but i love the look
on clark's face and then the other part i
really like is when he says well i'll help
you out a little bit you know and he's like
so i'll help you get a few things for the
kids for christmas or whatever pretty soon
he's you know hauling three bags of dog food
i mean he's just literally loading this cart
up you know i'm just i want to get something
for you yeah give an inch and take a mile
like he was oh you'll help with money all
right here's my list here's everything i've
ever needed for the last 20 years so good
yeah i love that um that part i like that
you can tell eddie like feels bad for kind
of crashing their christmas and he's like
well i couldn't get you anything for christmas
so he realizes that when he when clark griswold
gets the jelly of the month club subscription
and goes off on this huge rant about all of
this stuff that like happened and how much
he just like hates his boss he wants him right
here wrapped up in a bow so i can tell him
how i really feel you know and eddie's got
he's got it this is he takes it seriously
he goes and gets him and literally kidnaps
him in his leisure suit like he's wearing
his dumb blue leisure suit while he's going
on this escapade and then the boss is literally
in his pajamas and the wife's screaming she
calls the swat team on them like they all
come crashing in through the windows it was
so good and i i love the rant and i love oh
the meaning of christmas isn't you know to
to get money and stuff it is to celebrate
with your family but when you know you are
depending on it you're hurting the family
and like you know money doesn't buy happiness
but it buys a lot of things that you do need
and depend on and because we live in a society
so like you can't just not have it you know
i love too when the wife actually shows up
at the thing uh at the house and he's telling
you know she's like what's going on what happened
and then she finds out that he cut out the
christmas bonuses she's like how could you
do that and then she's totally on the family
side now all of a sudden because he was such
a jerk and cut out the bonuses and you know
he ends up reinstating the bonuses but one
of the things um that i loved about eddy is
where eddie's there and he's going to get
the eggnog in the little moose cups and when
you look at him he's wearing that sweater
and then he has that dicky that you can see
totally the whole outline of the day underneath
this letter that's i just laugh every time
i see that part i think eddie has to be the
i mean obviously clark is like an amazing
character but eddie there's just something
about him that is like so ridiculous and the
actor who played him is just amazing because
he did it with a straight face i mean i can't
tell you how many outtakes there are because
who knows if you broke character a bunch of
times but what they have captured in the film
is great because you can tell he's taking
it seriously to be this person and he's so
gross like burping and wearing a robe out
in the yard and smoking a cigar and drinking
a beer at like 8 a.m like bro please stop
what you're doing immediately and get out
it was oh my gosh i just yeah he is so gross
and i'm just like power to you because congratulations
you made me uncomfortable but that's how you
know it's good like if you have a visceral
into somebody who's supposed to be gross like
you know they're doing a good job i also particularly
love the face of the neighbors as they see
him out there putting the sewage into the
or the waste into the sewage and they're like
yeah he's like about to go for a run and he
like sees it and is like oh oh god look at
this like run back his eyes like this is not
happening i love the um the turkey dinner
like they're about to have dinner what the
gram or it's like the aunt or whichever relative
has to like do the prayer and it's the pledge
of allegiance and eddie stands up and like
does the like hand over his heart or whatever
and i'm like respect but also hello i'm they
just all like open their eyes like what is
going on i honestly think that should be a
traditional christmas prayer you know that
they do at church now you know like midnight
mass rolls around got some prayers going on
you know pledge allegiance to the flag that's
just so funny it's so easy it's an easy joke
but it's so effective
and then is it there or is it outside that
she goes play ball oh that's all don't say
when it actually works and then she's singing
what is she singing the star-spangled banner
single banner oh it's great great and everyone
starts singing along everyone joins in because
they're like okay she doesn't know what's
going on let's just participate let's let's
normalize it isn't she also the one that wrapped
up the cat i mean she really doesn't know
what's gone but she's patriotic if one thing
you know if there's one thing she is and then
also she wrapped up the jello mold and then
it had bits of cat food and his clark's eating
he goes what's in here cat food is that cat
foodi love that but eddie comes up and they're
like oh my god this one's leaking what is
it and then he just scoops his fingers and
it licks it and goes oh it's the jello mold
oh god it's like yuck yeah and then he also
asks for seconds on the gel i'm like eddie
you can't be doing this sweetie please stop
but i guess if you eat squirrel and raccoon
and things like that a little bit of cat food
in a jello mold probably is pretty mellow
compared to that i would think all right i
think it's uh pretty safe to say we can't
talk about the christmas vacation movie without
talking about the sledding extravaganza that
they went on because that is it's like almost
too stupid but it still makes me laugh every
time because what does he grease up his sled
with that like make i think it was pam oh
my god like literally what they say don't
do very widely known in the midwest do not
grease up your sled you will die and and it's
a metal sled too which makes it more slippery
and it's one of those circle ones that you
can't like control very well either basically
they're asking to have their neck broken or
something like that it just seems like you
know it's not a good idea if you've ever gone
sledding down a hill on snow especially if
it's like icy you know it's just like you
can't really predict where you're gonna end
up and then add on some grease to that and
a metal sled and this giant hill i don't think
so i also love the part where clark asks eddie
if he wants to try it and that he's like oh
no clark i can't you know i got this metal
piece in my head you know or they it used
to be metal and now it's plastic because every
time he went through the metal detector he
pissed himself i thought it was every time
he turned on the microwave oh maybe that was
it i can't remember but oh my gosh it was
so funny so now he's got a plastic one so
he has to be really careful but the stuff
that he's spraying on is some new technology
that their company is working on per you know
perfecting to make it so non-stick surface
or whatever and that's a food coating or something
you know so that's what he puts on there and
it's just hilarious i mean i've had my fair
share of like sledding debacles but none so
much is like zooming at the speed of light
through town but i do remember one time there's
this overpass my dad's not gonna like that
we're telling this story and my dad thought
like my kids want to go sledding this is close
it's a hill i mean grand forks does not have
like any hills so there's like three places
you can go sledding well now two because i
wouldn't recommend going sledding on the overpass
but it like led straight to like
it was just like a it wasn't a straight downhill
but it was a pretty steep hill so like banking
like afterward or like straight to like slow
yourself down it just went straight into a
fence of someone's backyard
and so we like
emily and i go down i think together in a
sled and we just like smash into it like we
didn't hurt ourselves that way like by hitting
the fence physically but because it was such
a quick jolt like our backs just like took
the brunt of it like the shock and we just
start crying and my dad's like so upset like
that he did this dad do you have anything
to say for yourself he's listening as we speak
cry baby i'd say my most drastic or catastrophe
thing happening while sweating was well i
guess the most was when i saw someone else
that happened to them their sled went through
their chin to their mouth and like the ambulance
had to come there was blood splitting everywhere
it was disgusting it's my friend's little
brother that was traumatic but like the most
terrible thing that happened to me was i was
going down a sled with my friend and we hit
this little coulee and of course it's ice
but then of course the ice breaks because
why wouldn't it so then
frigid cold water um and it's just soaking
wet in your snow pants and boots and luckily
it was like maybe six inches deep so like
we weren't drowning or anything but it was
cold okay like i'm sure i whipped my pants
off in the middle of winter because i was
just in ice cold water and i feel like there
was one oh well my dad would always snow blow
the snow from our front yard into a hill for
us to sled down in our front yard and i guess
i don't remember any major accidents happening
on that somehow but we had a nice sized hill
because unlike my father or unlike rachel's
father taking her to an overpass my dad just
made a giant hill in our front yard that we
could sled into a sidewalk or a tree or the
street if we went the wrong direction but
you know safety doesn't matter when you're
a child yeah why not yolo i'm trying to think
of any other sledding stories like nothing
that was drastic i guess but i was like scared
of sledding for a while because you can't
control yourself and i'm always scared of
like hitting somebody and really hurting them
while they're like walking up this the hill
but nothing like drastic happened i guess
but oh i was in a photo shoot one for my college
my undergrad and that was really fun like
we just had to wear like und clothes and go
sledding and that was fun i mean it wasn't
anything crazy but someone told me i was really
photogenic that day and that's now like my
linkedin profile file so just kidding like
i was told i'm photogenic one time yeah i
was told i was photogenic while sledding i
don't have any of those pictures but you'll
just have to take my word for it
snow queen that was like my whole personality
growing up was like i'm good at the cold which
is a lie because i'm sleeping in my bed at
night i just told you how warm it was it's
like in the 70s but when it gets cold i'm
wearing a sweatshirt i'm wearing sweatpants
i've got socks on i got two quilts on like
i am always frozen solid i turn my fan off
like i make sure it's hot i don't care if
i wake up sweating as long as i go to bed
warm i i cannot be cold in my room no i sleep
in like 60 degrees sometimes without the blanket
on a shirt i cannot have socks on cannot have
pants on sometimes the shirt has to come off
i have a fan on in my room i was literally
sweating last night like i was like oh my
god it's hot in here and it was like 60 degrees
i can't
well i know at our house it's the same way
we uh it drops down to the low 60s for the
the heat and uh in our bedroom we have the
ceiling fan going and a regular fan going
and then we don't you know really have blankets
on her bed i do have one that goes over the
top or whatever because the cats like to sleep
on it and stuff but i can i wear shorts and
a t-shirt to bed and absolutely no socks or
anything like that and one foot has to be
out at all times well do you guys have anything
else that you would like to say about this
movie
i just say watch it you know i say you should
watch it maybe if you have young children
around um check it out before you commit to
watching it with them i've watched it since
i was little but that's also the way my family
is so if you're cool with that watch it with
the kids but i think it's funny worth a watch
do it i agree with hannah on the part of always
watching a family movie by yourself first
before you involve the kids we've had a few
missteps in the past so you mean going to
we're the millers as a family in theaters
sitting in the front row is that what you
mean that's exactly one of the situations
i mean and like we were in under like 16 like
i don't know what year this came out but we
were like definitely not of age to go exactly
but yeah so i everybody i talked to said oh
my gosh that's a great movie because i said
is there any suggestions for a family movie
and they're like we're the millers it's a
great movie nobody told me there was any nudity
in it it came out in 2013 or 2014. girl you
were almost 20 come on almost 20. i wasn't
even 18 yet
in 2013 well six years ago i guess office
2014 that would have been our senior year
well it goes it depends on what time because
if it was like january of 2014 we're still
juniors but like september through december
it just depends when this this came out i
was probably 17 still i'm a baby though everyone
who knows me knows i do not like but that
movie was funny though i just closed my little
baby eyes so like that's the dumb that should
be have you guys reviewed that movie yet no
we haven't that would be a good suggestion
also whoever said it's a good family movie
maybe it's a good movie about a family because
yeah it is not good for the family but i do
remember when he dropped his pants everybody
both the girl rachel just went
laughing and emily's like jesus christ
yeah emily has to cover my eyes when we watch
a movie and there's nudity in it i'm like
emily block my eyes for me you know when it's
coming and i'm over here two years older than
her just being a baby it's the dynamic
but i just want to thank mom for being a good
sport and uh being pranked live on the podcast
here i don't know why i thought about like
i don't know why i was like this would be
so funny to prank my mom i don't know why

about the first week of christmas month so
you didn't get a sneak peek of the movies
this month because well i didn't want my mom
to see it can't can't be giving away the secrets
there so thank you to my father for trying
to slip in some hints and get my mom in the
right headspace but you know what this was
worth it it was very funny so thank you mom
so your dad knew uh-huh about last week i
told him well we'll see if he shows up in
uh albuquerque with me or not so oh no if
